Who We Are

Anna is a middle school librarian at two schools where she develops young students into beginning independent information seekers. She has a B.A. in political science and an M.L.I.S. with a concentration in school librarianship.

 

Anna is a member of ALA and ALSC. She has chaired the Massachusetts School Library Association Student Interest Group. Anna and Arianna have presented twice at the ALA Annual Conference on girls and graphic novels.  In April of 2013, Anna and Arianna had an article published in Technical Services Quarterly called "Not Your Mom's Graphic Novels: Giving Girls a Choice Beyond Wonder Woman."


The first graphic novel that Anna read was Maus by Art Spiegelman when she was a junior in undergraduate college. Her favorite graphic novel is The Arrival by Shaun Tan.

Arianna has just made the transistion to being a middle school librarian.  She spent six years as the Upper School librarian at an all girls independent school.

 

She has a B.S in Educational Theater and Dramatic Literature from NYU and an M.L.I.S. with a concentration in school librarianship from Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science.

The first graphic novel Arianna ever read was Sandman by Neil Gaiman, when she was a sophomore in college.  Her favorite is I Kill Giants by Joe Kelly.
